tired of life...my life is school. so really, i'm just tired of school

This last month of school is killing me, and fast. I understand assigning one more project before the semester is over...but TWO for one class? that's a little ridiculous. I haven't been able to blog because I've been so swamped with assignments and any free time I get I just flop onto the couch and rest. I don't think people understand how challenging studying art can be. It's tough mentally and physically. My brain has been gettin the workout of it's life this semester and sometimes I think I enjoy it. However, I met with my advisor and she suggests I do 3 studio classes. I think doing that would be much wiser..but if for some reason I NEED to take 5 studio classes I know I can do it.

Last week I went home and spent Halloween with the fam
ily. We celebrated mom's birthday on Halloween night so I didn't trick or treat, pass out candy...even worse...DRESS UP! I was planning on dressing up as mother nature using my costume I made for class.

for my 3D class we had to merge two things together (hero and an artist). My hero was mother nature and my artist was Guillermo del Toro. I chose his character "The Faun" from pan's labyrinth.

If you haven't seen that movie, I HIGHLY recommend it. It's in spanish so get ready for some subtitle reading.

But in all of my excitement to go home, I forgot my costume in Savannah. I remembered to bring the head though. So I was costume-less for Halloween, which sucked :(

since i've been back I've been turning in assignments, took a test, and getting more assignments. It's been rough. But in all of the stress, I decided to take some time this weekend to cook and relax. Thursday evening I made blueberry/blackberry cobbler.

I got the recipe from pioneerwoman. It tasted pretty good, but I think it would have been better with fresh berries. Tonight I made pork chops and mashed potatos.

Mom, I know you're proud.

Went down in the freezing cold to Savannah Rapids to take some pictures.
It was such a beautiful day and wanted some pictures for my digital photography class.
Here are a few, enjoy!

The sun setting when I was on the way to Statesboro

Isn't that a pretty neat picture? We were driving and I had to pull out my handy dandy Elph and snap some shots in the car. I came home to Augusta yesterday to take care of some business, then we went to Statesboro for my brother's concert. It was awesome -- made me wish I was in band again.

No art updates today...I have a project due Tuesday on Illustrator so maybe I will put that one up on Monday. There's just so much going on next week, I'm positive I'm going to go nuts.

Today I woke up so late. I woke up around 12 and shot out of bed and ran downstairs and downed a cup of coffee and a biscuit and washed my face and put on makeup and changed my clothes and went out the door with mom. and.and.and *whew* I needed to go get some cleats and I have no idea what I'm doing..I've never bought cleats before. I had no reason. And I never though I would. But our first game at frisbee I slipped and missed the catch, so I figure it would be a good investment for future games. The most awesome part is...I bought a pair of Nike Air zoom total 90 supremacy fg cleats. <---that means absolutely nothing to me. But the fact that it cost a buttload of money and we only spent $30 means we're awesome. My mom and I were on a mission and we successfully completed it. They are beautiful and so comfortable. I can't wait to test 'em out on the field later today!

And then after that I decided to go to the Evans High School Band Competition up in North Augusta. I've just been part of the band so long I can't get it out of my system. And they won EVERYTHING and got 1st out of all the bands in the whole competition. I'm so proud of my little kids! :) After that I went to dinner with my crew at Pizza Joint and then had some coffee afterwards. That's pretty much it for today. OH! yesterday in the car I started writing chapters for the story about my Charlie and me. If anyone knows how to put in a menu bar with tabs at the top (like under the picture of charlie and me) let me know. I would really like to get a start on that! :) It'll give me some structure. I'll probably have 1 tab for Art / 1 for Everyday / 1 for the story of Charlie and Me. it will be in chapters :P -- sound good? It's not going to be titled those exact things, but yeah, just a rough idea of what kind of format I want to follow.

anyways, probably will update monday evening or sometime tuesday

"How come I can never think of something when I think of it?!" -- Roommate

Taken at Hilton Head Island just a few meters before the ocean
there is watermark on it though because I downloaded this free trial of a program to play with enhancing HDR photos

Hey guys, today is ANOTHER beautiful day! Man, this weather is just the bomb. So I woke up, ready to start this beautiful day -- too bad I woke up with a teensy weensy asthma attack and missed class. (yeah I know WHAT?! YOU MISSED CLASS?) thankfully it wasn't full blown out attacking me...I just woke up with a hard time breathing and continuous coughing. Didn't feel too well so I just stayed at home cause at the time I wasn't sure if I was sick...but it didn't hit me until later that it probably was an asthma attack since this happened once before. Weiiiiird.

Anywhayzzz. I am cooking some delicious teriyaki chicken with pepper and garlic blend. Smells delish. I have a tournament tonight at 8:30 so I'm pretty excited...and nervous. I know this is just for fun and I even told my team that at the beginning of all of it. However, truth is...I WANT TO ANNIHILATE THEM AND WIN. [JUST NOW] Just ate my "delicious" chicken.....not so delicious. My roommate and I were starving so we took it out kind of early and it was difficult to eat. Cooked, but still clinging for dear life on to the bone. I ate the rest of the rice and now I'm eating some Wheat Thins.

Tomorrow I'm planning on leaving Savannah at 6 to go to Augusta. Realistically, I'm going to probably leave at 7...or 8. So I shouldn't stay up too late...but I really want to talk to Charlie. And just stay up..BECAUSE I CAN. and don't have school tomorrow.

JEEZE. I started writing this around 4 and now it's 10. I just left it up and kept adding on. I just got back from frisbee not too long ago...yeah guess what? WE ANNIHILATED THEM! 11-4. Say whaaaaat! FRIZ-G's (yes, my team name). I'm so proud of my team, they are awesome.

okay so I'm getting better at this writing everyday thing, yeah? yeah.

I will close it with the end product of my lucha key on illustrator, which BY THE WAY was not my final product. I found out the afternoon before it was due that we had to do FOUR different versions of the original. So I did tweak this (with the lines and shading) and made it look better for the other versions, this is the only one I save that is like the key. So yeah, I know it's not perfect but whatever! I did the other four in 5 hours. I was so proud of myself.

okay I lied. I'm putting another picture.
this is my 2D i told yall about in my first blog...the Hitler Storm Trooper.

"I have a headache...not in my brain or whatever..it just hurts. yeah" -- roommate

today is such a beautiful day

holy moley.
I have not written in a while...so much for writing everyday. I've been busy up to my eyeballs. It's so ridiculous. I have no idea what I was thinking when signing up for classes. This is the week I had four projects due. Thankfully, other people are slow on Illustrator so my teacher pushed the project date on Tuesday. One less thing to worry about right now...

Anyways! -- I'll update you guys on what has been going on. I have a frisbee team!! We're the Friz-G's. Our first game was Monday last week and we lost... 7-14. But we went against the undefeated team from last year, so I say that was a pretty good first game (oh yeah, we just got the team together the day before the game and had like a one hour practice, haha). And then we had a game Monday and we won! woo hoo. Game on Thursday, wish us luck!

As far as art goes...man.
so.
much.

3D. I made the ugliest thing ever ------ Seriously.
This thing looked so awesome in my head and when translated from brain- to hands-to styrofoam, glass, rocks, wire....well...here. I'll just let you see the disaster.

Yes, I took a quick, blurry picture on purpose. 'What is it?', you may be asking. It is whatever you want it to be.....or to some people....it might be water.............but that's just some people.........yeah....but according to charlie it looks like a blue twinkie.

I had to make the decision to take that whole part off and just use the base of it (not shown) and that will be my project.

Now, I'm not thrilled with the end product, but it looks much, much...much better than putting that piece of -- water....on top of it.

Here's the end product.

I got some very interesting critiques. First thing said was "it looks like a cake". Alright, sweet. I like cake. Cake is good. Who hates cake? Then I got the comment "It looks like fire". I can see that...blues, reds....rocks, campfire? (NOTE: this is suppose to be IN THE ROUND sculpture. I horribly failed that part. She saw it from the side and the lead totally looked like fire). Then I got "it looks like a volcano". Wow, these were just getting better and better. Basically I made a fiery volcanic cake. Which is pretty awesome, but not what I had in mind.

The main structure is styrofoam and i covered the sides with black river rocks. The top is covered with those iridescent glass marbles you use in vases with fake flowers...I just smashed those up with a hammer and there's some pieces of mirror too. The leaf is made out of wire and I used acrylic paint on it.

After turning in that disaster I was running around trying to take picture for my Digital Photography class..I completely forgot about homework. So I had about 20 minutes to take "abstract" photos and then I brought it to class, with my computer, a blank CD and ready to burn that baby on it. But...............no. It's due wednesday. Which is good because I want to take better pictures and photoshop them better. Here's a few pictures I took...guess what they are! (I had a fun time with the girl next to me, she tried to guess every picture and got one right).

Okay maybe this one is easy.

This is pretty easy too i guess.

Maybe this one isn't that hard either...why couldn't the girl figure these out?

Okay I think this is the hardest one

The 2D project (hitler-storm trooper) was due today....but....yeah. It's a long story. I will tell that on Thursday when I turn it in and don't have to look at it anymore. I really will try harder to write more. It's just now I have frisbee on top of crazy projects and I basically don't have a life. So it's hard to write about nothing or write when I have no time to write.

woooo hooo! first grade back...and it's a 95! 2 points off because I should have taken some stuff out rather than keep adding...and 3 points off because I didn't participate in the critique. Which is a LIE! I said my good solid, constructive, single comment about a particular piece. BUT, since I got a 95, I won't complain. Plus, I should have said more than ONE thing, hahah. Oh welllll.

VMA's....what the heck....

Okay so I usually don't freak out/always watch award shows...but I decided to go ahead and put it on last night. I'm so glad I did (or else I'd be completely lost at all the gossip for today).
#1. I can't believe what Kanye did....I love his music and everything and I'm not exactly Taylor Swifts biggest fan, but that was so rude and I felt really bad for her.
#2. Lady Gaga....what the heck. I don't understand how profusely bleeding on stage and then "dying" at the end was necessary. It was just weird.
#3. Russell Brand was (is) funny
#4. New Moon trailer...woo hoo!...i already saw it like 20 times before last night but still. Looks awesome on the T.V. screen and not my computer.
#5. Lady Gaga........what the heck. First the performance...I was going to let that slide (not really) and now you do twenty outfit changes throughout the show? Crazy lace face mask and eskimo porcupine fur around your face...i don't even know.

Enough about VMA's....So much for keeping up with this blog everyday HAHA. This weekend I was soooooo busy with relaxing I just couldn't blog about it. Too much to say...sleep...t.v...movies....sleep....food....and some art projects. I did finish my shoe! wooo hoooo
okay so I wasn't THRILLED with the results but once I saw some others in class I was pretty happy. Plus, I finished it yesterday and it didn't have to be done until the end of class today so I just relaxed and started brainstorming for the big project. I thought it would be easier but it's so much harder....not really having any limits and coming up with something. Eekk..

I'm actually about to head off to art history....i don't even want to talk about this class...
but as for digital photography, I might blog about it again tonight or just save it for tomorrow. I'm going to have a late night again doing 2D and trying to do as much as I can on the lucha key...I liked it when we had a week break from projects...

take care! :)
